Collectanea ad grammaticum graecum explicandam : numero II, ca. 1827-1830.

Softbound manuscript volume containing notes related to the study of Greek grammar, apparently as clarified by Georg Ludolf Dissen, whose name is given on the title page as: Ludolphus Dissen. The notebook is believed to have been written by the classics scholar Ernst von Leutsch when he was studying under Dissen at the University of Göttingen, from 1827 to 1830. (See notes taken by Leutsch at lectures of Dissen related to classical Greek literature; Ms. Coll. 841, Boxes 3-5, 7.) However, Leutsch's name does not appear in the volume, and the title page is not dated. The notes are formulated as discrete points or topics, usually written on separate pages, with blank leaves intervening between each new entry. The entries comprise examples in Greek, with bibliographical citations from classical Greek literature (Hippocrates, Sophocles), and occasional references from secondary literature; some pages have headings in Latin referring to parts of speech. The title page appears to enumerate the notebook as the second in a series. There is another notebook in the present collection similarly entitled Collectanea (Ms. Coll. 841, Box 39); however, the latter dates from Leutsch's studies at Gymnasium, and it is not clear that it has any relationship to the present item.
